If I send a DX station an e-mail saying "I worked you on August 15th at 0845Z on 14195 SSB with a report of 59, PSE QSL" that e-mail wouldn't count to the DX station. However, if he receives my e-mail, writes out a card and pops it into his next bureau shipment to the 'States, his reply to me is perfectly valid. Printing out a PDF, on the other hand IS an electronic transmission and would NOT be accepted. The point I was making, though, is with current home printing technology, what would the odds be of a well-done PDF card not getting caught by a checker. (Don't try this at home, kids).
