I reply: Something dead simple is no problem but I'd like to get it together
better. It's dead easy to call Flash methods from DynLayers (Play(),
StopPlay(), GoToFrame() etc) handy for adding sound effects to DynButtons or
simply controlling a movie. But..
Here's where I'm butting my head. A movie can be placed in a DynLayer using
setHTML() (maybe there's a better way??) and moved about, dragging is a
little difficult because the movie is always on top and the DynLayer cannot
sense mouseevents but possible. It can be hidden by moving off-screen or
lyr.setSize to zero. In IE the movie can still be accessed and controlled by
the id/name but I've yet to do the same in Netscape (embed tags are accessed
by document.name or document.embeds[i] but in a DynLayer?? the same would
apply for applets). And... I find this evening that my script appears not
receive FSCommands from the movie nested in a DynLayer. I go to bed tonight
disappointed to say the least but more than determined to plug away at it
tomorrow. My prize would be the honour of an example on your site.
Which I've yet to see :) It's all a grand learning experience.
