Alain, 
I don't feel the need for other cvs operations from IDEA. I need it only
to update my files, not to manage a repository!! 

I work this way :
I use cvs checkout to create a local copy of the repository.
Then I run IDEA's project wizard and select project dirs and src dirs
appropriately.
Finally, I enable cvs on the IDEA project.

Et voila'.
