Thanks Jorge, Thats perfect ( If I could only get it to work) I see there are a few eBox vids to use as reference material for these HowTo documents. should be useful later.
I'm not sure where my problem is coming from. I think the version of ebox in the video is different. I'm using a fully installed 1.4. Probably not a big deal, though I still cant connect out to the WAN from the LAN!! The two Nics are both working. I can connect out to the internet directly from the eBox install. Connecting to the web interface from a DHCP client on the LAN side works fine. But I cant connect through from the LAN to the WAN. I cant even ping out past the WAN Nic eth0 to anything on the WAN side. I can ping the WAN Nic eth0 and the LAN Nic eth1 from a DHCP client on the LAN Firewall is turned off though I have on previous attempts tried to set up rules to let everything pass through and even turned it on. I have tried with the External WAN check for eth0 on and off I have tried with a fixed IP on the WAN side and with it set to get an IP with DHCP I have even tried with fixed IP addresses everywhere just to see! I have tried with IP addresses in the WAN and LAN in the same range ie. both like 192.168.1.X I have tried using some forum information where Objects and gateway settings with static IPs were used. But it always gives the same result.. I cant ping from a client on the LAN side to anything on the WAN side.!! If the rest of the eBox interface did not look so well finished I would say there was a BUG. But there cant be a bug for this!! can there? It has been frustrating me for over a week now. Reinstalling almost every day and trying again is actually driving me nuts at this stage. Ahhhh !!! What can I do to get a simple router or gateway working. !? This is why I want to do some simple HowTo docs.. I should not be in this situation and neither should anyone else. Can anyone advise me. Please Please Please.!
