I hear what you are saying.
However as I have said, there is already a record in the *Network ->
Gateways* section ( I guess thats what you mean by "Network -> Routers")
*Enabled Name IP address Interface Weight
Default Action*
yes dhcp-gw-eth1 192.168.2.1 eth1 1
yes
It is created automatically when you set up an eth in *Network -> Interfaces
* as External (WAN) with IP obtained by DHCP.
If you try to add a new gateway in *Network -> Gateways* to the same eth (
the WAN one) you get this message
* "You can not manually add a gateway for DHCP or PPPoE interfaces"*
If I take a look at *Network -> Static Routes *Then I cant see how to relate
the instructions.
However after reading the section *eBox Gateway *in the Documentation I
understand that there is a way to set up *Static Routs. * I'm going to try
and work through the examples given there but its not for a LAN to WAN set
up with two eth.. Its only for a single connection. Also if I just try to
add a static route now I get this:
*"Gateway 192.168.2.1 must be reachable by a static interface. Currently it
is reachable by eth1 which is not static"*
I get that error because the interface I want, gets its IP with DHCP from
the WAN.*
*
Back to the gateway though. It is implemented in that there is a
record in *Network
-> Gateways*
*Enabled Name IP address Interface Weight
Default Action*
yes dhcp-gw-eth1 192.168.2.1 eth1 1
yes
But its not being reflected in a query of the live routing table with *route
-n*.
# route -n
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use
Iface
192.168.4.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 1 0
0 eth1
169.168.2.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 1 0
0 eth0
I'm not an eBox genius by any measure but it should be on that list right?
I hope I'm wrong but I say BUG. Either that or its a feature with a function
I cant grasp.
Fred.
