I've added debug logging to a test version available in 
http://eclipseme.org/testversions/.  This logging is only for the 
UEI-based toolkits, for which Sun is one.  There are no other changes 
since the 1.5.5 version in this test version.  Please give this a try.

To enable the logging, you need to specify the System property 
"eclipseme.toolkit.uei.debug" as "true" when starting up Eclipse.  This 
is done in the same way that executable debugging is enabled and is 
documented here http://eclipseme.org/docs/troubleshooting.html#x4.  You 
should also enable launch debugging output as well.  After enabling this 
debugging output, attempt to do the import.  Make sure that you specify 
all the way down to the "bin" directory of the toolkit installation for 
the import or you will end up with way too much logging output.  The 
resulting output will be written to the error log, which can be found 
according to these instructions...
