I agree that is a bit on the harsh side... GXS should be allowed to
explain the root cause, the fix and what is being done to prevent it in
the future. By the same token, we as customers should be provided an
accurate depiction of the situation. The issue at hand is that ...
Robert Kamba
Senior Vice President, Global Operations GXS provided the official
response (which I posted). This was not obtained from a Customer Service
Rep. If you missed the post, I will resend to you directly. I am
attempting to determine it's validity (which I believe to be fair). As
it does currently make logical sense, I will, as you suggested, approach
them with the fact that there are indeed users of the new Data Center
that also had this problem. In fact, it appears at this time that, no
GXS FTP user could even connect to GXS.

Not that I don't "feel your pain" but I think you are calling for action
totally unwarranted AT THIS TIME.

Accusing a company as a whole of lying (telling untruths deliberately)
is a
pretty major step, the kind of step which could earn you a new nickname:
"Respondent". (Name-calling can get you there too, but it does take a
bit
longer than making specific allegations in a public venue).

If there is a bad apple at some vendor - be it a customer service rep or
those who train/support him or her - give that vendor a chance to handle
the
situation. Contact a responsible manager at that company and tell
him/her
what happened. You might be surprised how often a manager is never made
aware of this kind of thing. (Tell me there haven't been times when YOU
have
decided to "handle it myself" without informing YOUR boss!).

After all, isn't this the same group begging for YOUR customers to be
PARTNERS with you?
