Sorry. I need to come to Mr. Douglas's defense here. There was nothing 'hideous' about Art's comments. And I have to totally agree with Art in this case. He was not 'selling' anything and imo not out of line. He was merely commenting on the huge misconception that most have that AS2 is 'expensive' and so are VAN's. Not if you do your homework. And unless people like Art and many others publicly state that there are in fact solutions out there that are NOT expensive and that do not gouge the end-user, how would anyone know? Isn't everyone interested in knowing what is out there and that can help them? Oddly enough, I've never seen anyone post 'hey come to me.. We're the most expensive out there. We'll gouge you for every penny if we can!" Users come to this group for information - be it good, bad, expensive or cheap. Many ask for 'advice' (re: free training) and others take offense to that too. So what should everyone simply reply 'Errr..Thanks for posting. Good luck'. So what's the purpose of this group?? I take it, based on your own comments, that you must be a reseller as well and it gets under your skin when others (you can't compete with) make references to product ABC being better, cheaper and simpler to use. If you're not a reseller or consultant then learn from Art's comments - Softshare or not. It can help you do a better job by saving your company some $$. I guess surfing the web must really tick you off - every major site has some sort of AD or worse. Watching TV must be a total turn-off. Commercials and all. Sorry for waiting your time.
