Patrice,

It depends on the specifics.

If you own or need a standalone EDI system I could find VAN rates from 0.08
cents to about .15 cents, depending on the VAN that best suits you and your
trading partner relations.

Without your own piece of software you would need to go through a third
party EDI provider and they will charge you around .20 cents and up to 2.00
a message depending on the size of the message and the extra services you
need.

There are pros and cons to both ventures. I would never tell you one is
better than the other without knowing exactly what your situation is. Who
are the trading partners? What services do you need or you may need in the
future? What other information systems (ERP,WMS,ect..) do you currently use?
There are a vast amount of information to consider in getting the best price
for your documents. Please get back to me when you have a chance, I would
like to hear more about what the particular situation in front of you
regarding EDI. I know there is better information I could give you, once I
know the specifics. I look forward to your response.

Thank you,

All EDI

Subject: [EDI-L] What is a decent price/cost per EDI message?

  Dear All,

In your opinion/experience, what is a decent price/cost per EDI
  message, including mapping and transmission?

  What about $0.32/message?

Many thanks in advance and best regards,

  Patrice
