Peter, I havent worked on websphere tool yet, This may not be the best solution but just an idea. If you prefer to map only from IDOC to 850 , then try mapping from IDOC to IDOC using websphere instead of IDOC to xml . Padmaja.

This seems terribly complicated and frankly I don't have much faith in the people that are telling me this story. Are there any WebSphere experts out there that can confirm or deny the idea that there is no way to simply pass a file to a given destination without a mapping component? Perhaps this isn't as off-topic as I though since with IBM's takeover of Sterling, all the Gentran stuff might end up as WebSphere in the not too distant future!
