In my experience, I am far more a constant than any client partner's contact
....and for that matter, often more a constant than my client contacts, too.

Thus, I have mastered the technology of using the "telephone" (there's a
great history of this device on wikipedia for you 'newbies') to call the
client partner's switchboard (pressing '0' to speak to a warm body when
necessary), introducing myself, explaining my situation and allowing the
warm body to "let me connect you with..".

If you are new to the telephone, please be advised you may have to repeat
the introducing and explaining part a couple of times before you reach the
correct party. This is normal; you should NOT need to begin a medication
regime to deal with it.

FWIW,.. when you were hired/engaged, I have five bucks says your
employer/client was looking for someone with "excellent communications
skills." This will be a textbook opportunity to prove you are not a fraud
