Hi Ryan –

You might make clear that you are looking for an EDI program that allows you to
purchase Microsoft software licenses. I can assure you that Ingram, HP, Dell
etc. have robust EDI programs, but this is a very special subset. You need to
find the contact that is involved with the Microsoft project. If you call a
general number, they might not have a clue as to this program. Why not just
purchase from Microsoft?

Susan

Sorry I may not have been clear with my first post. We are going to be
purchasing software licenses for Microsoft software. We must issues a PO each
month for the software we use. Microsoft has given us a list of companies we
can buy the licenses from. Ingram Micro is one of them. Before we pick the
company to use I need to confirm that they truly have support for EDI. Lots of
time we are told “Yes we support EDI” but there version of EDI is sending us a
PDF via e-mail.

HP is also on the list of companies Microsoft gave us. We setup an account with
them, signed up for their VAN only to find that the part numbers we need to
order are in a “different” system that does not support EDI at this time.

Cheers

Ryan

Ryan,
Why is your sales rep dealing with vendors? Shouldn't they be selling to
customers? Have you tried googling? Have you tried explaining to the people at
the 800 number that you are the customer and they are the vendor and perhaps
they can refer you to a different department, one that is interested in selling
whatever it is they sell? Have you mentioned this problem to whoever gave you
this number?

Would anyone have a contact at Ingram Micro that would be willing to
answer a few questions? We were given 1-800-616-4665 by our sales rep
but when we call that number they will not answer any questions without
us giving them an account number. We have not setup an account with
them because we need to verify their EDI support before we bring them on
as a vender. All we get from sales is "Unfortunately without an Ingram
account our EDI department cannot assist" I find it a bit nuts.

Cheers

Ryan
