I believe you mean a reference implementation, just like the ORB in the
JDK. Used for tutorials, compatibility testing, etc? I read earlier this
year (before Sun's purchase of NetDynamics) that Javasoft committed to a
reference implementation 4Q of 1999. I don't know if that is still the
case.
