>> What's the situation of SUN concerning the Netscape Application Server
(formely
>> the KIVA Server) and NetDynamics Server?

> Is Sun only focalizing on ND?

Good question. I have no idea of the answer but let me hazard a few guesses.
This is all speculation so dont pay too much attention to this.

Once the whole Netscape/AOL/Sun deal becomes official they make a marketing
announcement which says: "The two servers are complimentary and have
different strengths. In the coming months, we will integrate the best
features of our complimentary server offerings to offer a powerful server
suite to developers."

Meanwhile within Sun the product marketing and engineering folks who
represent Kiva and NetDynamics (those who havent left the original companies
after the acquisitions) duke it out fighting for survival. Depending on who
represents Sun at a particular conference or trade show, developers will
hear conflicting stories about the application server of choice.

You will hear the comment "Sun was never a software company anyway" from
competitors, developers (and quite a few people within Sun) as they merrily
go on their daily routine.

Anybody want to take bets on this?

Regards,

Anil
