But where I am puzzled is why would one user chose to use Linux OS in conjuction with a Z OS on a mainframe for example when both are open source. Is it because a Linux distribution will come with all the stuff (apache etc) while the Z OS is bear apart from the core functionalities and that the user will have to buy websphere to do all the rest, while Linux OS is an all in one proposition?
