Hi Bill Welcome to our particular form of madness :-) QRP does not necessarily equate to slow code speed. There are slow speed nets, at least I've seen them mentioned in the past. Personally, I think your best bet is to just get on the air at a speed you can handle and make contacts. People will slow down for you, and you will gradually speed up.
A good way to practice is to send to yourself from a page in a book. Try to send a bit faster than you are comfortable with, and you will find that your mental processing of code will speed up on receive also. Good luck, 73 and Merry Christmas.
