OK, I think I may see the reason for conflicting results. If, for example, I set my main VFO to 24.901 the P3 will also read 24.901. Then if I turn on the XIT and turn it 1 khz to 24.902 the B cursor will be on the 1 khz line above the center and the P3 will read 24.902. All good so far.
If I then turn off the XIT the transmit cursor will turn off and the XIT light goes out but the display still says 24.902 until I hit the CLR button. Maybe this doesn't explain the OP's question but it could lead to someone being confused.
