At an army radar tracking installation, we invited in a stray cat because mice were continually eating through cables, nesting in tape drive bays, zapping themselves, and of course causing (smelly!) problems for us afterward. The cat must have been well fed with the mice because it never contributed to the chewed cables. :-)
