Hi Bob,
Just a note because the RS-50 is a real tank (heavy). I use 2x SS-30M
which power 5 high current devices (K3/P3, TS790A, IC910H and 2 brick
amps). Each power supply is only capable of powering one of these
devices during transmit, but since I don't transmit on multiple radios
concurrently, that's not a problem.
So, unless you need to transmit on the K3 and VHF radio at the same
time, you can get by with a smaller/lighter/cheaper supply. Of course
nothing wrong with overhead and room for expansion!

Everyone,
Thank you. It looks like using an Astron supply is the way to go. I will
probably go with the RS-50, as I also have a Yaesu 2M/70cm rig to power.
Incidentally, this mailing list was one of the major reasons why I decided
to get the Elecraft K3/P3 instead of competing products made in Japan. I
have found the members of this list quick to respond to questions from
others, with great answers.
Again, thank you.

I m about ready to place an order for a K3 and P3, and wonder if there are
recommendations on a reliable DC power supply for the Elecraft 100-W
transceiver.
