SOLDERING, esp. when the wire size closely approximates the inner
diameter of the
APP contact pin, works JUST GREAT! Don't sweat the high-dollar
crimper. NOT REQ.
Just do a creditable job of soldering.

Boy, I'm with you Henry. APP - they're great if you're seriously into
gear and have lots of rigs. Then you can spend the $50 for the tool and
it's no big deal.
I have one rig. I'm NOT going to spend $50 for a crimp tool to do 2
connections. Yet, crimping is the right way to do these. I soldered
the ones for my K2/100 and will end up doing the same for those with the
K3, all the time wishing they were crimped.
Actually, maybe I should buy the top-dollar crimper, a case of APP
connectors and a spool of 12 ga wire, and become the Power Pole Guy. Or
not.
