I did the same and found the described headset on ebay somewhere in Shanghai at a reasonable price and quick delivery. I built an adapater to the 8 pole Mic connector and tried it with my K2, but the modulation reports I got were not encouraging to use it longer. There is also still a problem with the vox, which is not as responsive as it should be. I helped myself with a PTT in form of a morse key, which does the job better than the VOX. Another problem was sometimes HF in the modulation, which might be a question of correct wiring the adapter to the K2.
