To all those kind folks who contributed on this topic:
I have decided not to proceed with a Plantronics product on account of
their unwillingness to supply me with specifications. I do not quibble
with their right to market their products in any way they see fit.
However, I hope that they do not quibble with my decision taken as a
consequence.
Incidentally, I do have an Elecraft / Heil MH2 hand-held mic, and I get
excellent reports when using it.
I am looking at the product on http://www.usinterface.com/default.asp,
and will probably buy it, but have decided that in the meantime I will
put Heil HC4 and HC5 inserts into a venerable Shure 444 microphone body
together with a selector switch and transistor amplifier - probably
using the circuit on the Elecraft site. That, and the QRP charger from
A & A Engineering rather uses up this month's allowance!
Best 73 to all and especially to the growing number of happy K3
assemblers. Please make sure you all debug it thoroughly so that I can
place my order. Years in the IT industry have made me wary of being an
early adopter of anything!
