If you decide to use DTR/RTS, be aware that your computer may raise these lines during bootup. So if you are in CW mode when you boot your computer, you may unexpectedly transmit a dash or two.

I found the DTR CW to work very well, and I could get rid of the parallel port interface I was using for computer-generated CW. I don't use the PTT, just selecting full or semi QSK on the K3.
