Thanks to all for your replies. I think I'll definitely pursue the DIY method rather than wait. I don't need the extended low frequency response; in fact, I think the K3 in stock form does pretty well in that area - at least with my particular unit. I am disturbed from the high frequency artifacts that manifest themselves from time to time however, and that's where I think the LPF would be most beneficial.
