I caution you against equating PBT with IF shift; I did the same thing a few weeks ago and almost got my head chopped off by the resident gurus. By the way, here are two trivial macros that I use to simulate --now, let me get this right-- *passband tuning*: SHIFTDN BW0200;IS 1000; (or even narrower if you desire) SHIFTUP BW0190;IS 1550; UNSHIFT BW0240;IS 9999; (or whatever normalized passband you desire) Though I know you're not a fan of doing this, Tom, I occasionally employ this technique to pull an exchange out when the contest QRM is at the moment coming predominantly from one side. I can't listen to SSB in narrower than about 2.0 kHz for very long; I get listener's fatigue. I have been astounded by the folks who have 1.5 kHz filters installed for SSB. For me to understand a guy in a 1.5 kHz bandwidth he would have to slow down his speech to twenty words per minute and repeat each word five times. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
