Hi Loic,
As i told you some days ago, if you need help and if it's not too hard
with python (as i am still starting to learn it), you have my hands...
Sorry for my silence, i was very occupied the last 2 weeks and the next
one too (many changes in my job... healthy...)
So i am here again.
I already had a look at your applet two weeks ago and i found it very
promising. i tried (in my custom lessons) to internationalize it but
without success for the moment (maybe i missed something with glade ui
and default menu entries).
But if you have any job for me... not so hard if it's python... ;)
Denis.

Point taken, but I think that if this is intended for use with
UMC, and
since UMC is spec-ed to be possibly destined for set-top
boxes, it
should accessible from within the media center interface.
Totally agree with you, in this case it isn't a need.
However, if it
is your intention to write a tool that is useful to many people on
differing desktop platforms (KDE, GNOME, XFCE, etc.), then I
think you
are on the right path with using a notification area.
Because the applet/notif is just a start, an entry point. I would
create other tools attached on this applet/notif, like for example
a way to create with a
So : with a GUI a lircd.conf file. If it's write in python, I think it
can be reuse in Elisa with a plugin very quickly, just change gtk with
an other toolkit.
But you think a notif is a better choice... What do you think about
the scripting ? To distribute easily this app ?
