If we want the writing style to keep its bite (pun intended!), English has a roughly equivalent idiom: "get their teeth into" or "sink their teeth into." I'm assuming that the original intention was the French "mordre à", in the sense of taking an interest in something and getting into it with gusto, and not in the sense of rising to the bait ... :) Yours, Christian
