As one who went to 9.1 from 8.6 last summer I will say that for Emailer, you won't find a lot of differences. In fact, you will find that your auto hangup after checking is not going to work anymore under 9.1. I don't regret moving to 9.1, but, I can not say that it gave me any real advantage over 8.6. Mostly 9.1 gave me a few more opportunities to play with "toys". Like iTunes and what I thought would be a major upgrade to the Palm desktop release for OS 9.1 and above. What a disappointment that was. Palm desktop is still Claris Organizer. Essentially untouched, like Emailer from when it was so advanced, so long ago. And while opinions and mileage may vary, I still have a lot of crashes on startup in 9.1. (Not in Emailer though. Emailer has always run pretty stably on my machines) I have sort of gotten used to the restarts, zap PRAM, etc.. So it doesn't concern me that much. I do have a lot of extensions that I couldn't begin to tell you what goes with what. I do plan on getting Jaguar at some point. And that will allow the 9.1 to run as "Classic". I am not sure if you can also run 8.6 under Classic in Jaguar. Probably not, but I am not certain of this.
