My reason is that they abandonned the french localization long ago (there used to be a multilingual version, but the current versions seems to limit multilinguism to the spell checker, not the interface -- am I wrong anybody?) I suppose it shouldn't stop me, since 90% of my software is US/English anyways, but well... I use AppleWorks too despite its terrible stylesheets and outline view. And Word, because I discovered word processing at a time when I didn't know what I was doing. My favorite version was Word 5.2a (the most usable one, once set to standard keyboard shortcuts and updated to open Word98 files). Oh man, did I regret all the time and effort it took to master it and read 400+ pages manuals and books, when I discovered what real mac apps were like.
