"Orphaned Folder"s are what are created by Emailer when doing a rebuild.
My best guess is that they are created when for some reason the name of
the folder (in the browser list and in the Folder list screen) becomes
"unattached" to the actual folder in which the items belonging to this
name are stored. Therefore when opening CE you may have a folder named
Emailer Talk which when highlighted in the Browser window USED to bring
up a list of emails pertaining to Emailer Talk, but now when the folder
named "Emailer Talk" is highlighted, the active folder on the right hand
portion of the screen is blank. However, by doubleclicking on the name
"Emailer Talk" a list of emails pop up and there are all the emails that
below in the other window. To take it one step further, the actual folder
name of the folder that opens up is "Orphaned Folder" (which I now have
MANY of -- about 47 -- some duplicates).

Now, what I have done in the past is start moving things around, but
there is a problem here in that when moving items from the "Orphaned
Folder" into what appears to be the correct folder does not help. You
cannot search or archive these folders. You basically can't do much of
anything with these.

I REALLY want to get things in order so I can archive and get my database
down to a managable size. You asked in an earlier email if I really need
all that email. Well, the correct answer would be yes and no. I DO need
to archive them. Since I haven't been able to archive, I have left things
hanging around.

Any help you could offer in getting this all cleared up would be GREATLY
appreciated!

Thanks!

Tracy Lee
