You don't mention the cost. I have two older Macs -- an iMac 350 and an
iBook SE 366, both without Firewire and with 6GB drives (almost full) and
both with RAM maxed out (768 MB on the iMac and 320 MB on the iBook).
Aside from the fact that I run my business using a database that hasn't
been (and may never be) updated to OS X -- Helix RADE -- and that I
really hesitate to give up Action Menus (Spell Catcher may be close to an
OS X version); and aside from my using an older Canon USB scanner, there
are still two major barriers to my even considering OS X, regardless of
any advantages it may have:
1. COST. I am simply not going to go through the expense of upgrading
hard drives and upgrading the _many_ applications I use regularly. I am
not going to buy new Macs just to use OS X.
2. Apparently, not everyone finds that Emailer works easily in OS X. I
rely too heavily on it to take a chance.
And in addition, I just don't have time for a learning curve. I shouldn't
even be taking the time to write this.
