I tried the "screwdriver turns the little dial thingy till it goes click" method. That worked for a little while, until after one final click, it sparked and let out its magic smoke. (for those of you that don't know... all electronics work via magic smoke, and if it manages to escape, the electronics will cease to work). The good part of this was... it broke during the dead of winter... and thanks to my landlord's lack of understanding of what insulation is... I just moved all the food into the bathroom to keep it cold (well, ok, not cold... FROZEN!
