mail in Mac OS X is quite good [heresy]

Hello,

mail in Mac OS X appears to be em@iler in Jaguar fur. m@il almost has Judd Spence's finger prints all over it.

mail has folders; but, calls them mailboxes; but, their icon is a folder.

mail has multiple accounts; and, calls them accounts.

mail has a pretty good set of rules; and, calls them rules.

mail has a "preferences>account>check for new mail>. The options are manually, 1, 5, 15, 30, and 60 minutes.

mail has the progress bar; but, calls it activity viewer.

mail uses the Mac OS X address book; but, it is still pretty good.

And, when you select "Show drawer," the mail arrangement is almost exactly the same as em@iler. [And, you can move it from side to side.]

mail is fast.

Oh, look! There is a rebuild!

Oh, look! There is a "File>import mailboxes ..." function.

OH, LOOK! THERE IS AN IMPORT MAILBOXES FROM EM@ILER 2.0v3 OPTION!

Plus, mail does HTML quite nicely. Including editing source outbound.

mail syncs.

mail has keyboard shortcuts for almost all operations.

mail captures sent email addresses if you tell it to. Although mail does not appear to have a way to capture a sent email's addresses into address book; it does. Window>address history. Then, you select the email and the "add to address book" button becomes active.

mail has signatures AND vcards! And, signatures are none, one, or random. [But, mail STILL doesn't seem to use rules for signatures. I am still trying!]

As much as I love em@iler, mail is pretty good. [I actually really like mail; but, I feel to cheap and tawdry about changing from em@iler. Perhaps I shall leave it on my legacy Mac.]
