It probably was sent.

I have both an AOL account (which I have had since 1995 which is why I am
reluctant to give it up) and recently a mac.com address which I use only
for certain specific purposes.

I am on a mailing list (with my aol address) which does allow
attachments. I frequently don't receive the attachments which others
receive. Yet some attachments do come through just fine. I think AOL
must restrict some attachments for some reason. I am not sure whether it
has to do with size or source or what. When I go to AOL Anywhere (since
I don't have the AOL software on my current Mac) to view the emails with
the missing attachment, the attachments are there, but the email
downloaded by Claris emailer gave no indication that there was an
attachment. When I click to open the attachment, AOL brings up the
warning that the message is from an unknown user, am I sure I want to
open it? Since I do recognize the user and that it is from my mailing
list and most often a small photo of a plant, I open it. Sometimes after
having done this and returning the mail to the "New Mail" folder by
selecting "keep as new", the next time my Claris emailer dials in, it
will sometimes download the attachment. But this doesn't happen very
often. If I really want the attachment on my computer, I will forward
the email to my mac.com address and download with Outlook Expess which
seems to have no problem with attachments.

So it must be a combo of Claris Emailer and AOL but it is not consistent.

Susan Grose, just reporting my experience in case it's useful for anyone
