OK, here an extremely small idea that perhaps coudl be developed to a solution, if I understand the problem right:
What about using a tcp/ip filter that filters just this one message? Would that be useful? This way Emailer wouldn't report the connection as a network stream error. It would probably be doable quite easily in OS X, but I suppose you'd need a very configurable firewall or lightweight tcp/ip filter application under OS 9. I realize we may know too little about the actual communication taking place, but accept this a free thought at least. Even better of course would be an app that extends Mac OS 9 Email client capabilities with SSL, in much the same way as Baton Mail redirects SMTP Auth connections. I'd suggest Chris do not write this application however (so you can stop reading right here, Chris :| ). He's really done enough for the Mac community. But, there could be a small chance someone somewhere on the globe is adding this functionality to an existing application, that perhaps could be put to use- or someone, like a student, may be experimenting with similar functionalities in his simple Mac apps and could be swayed into trying this as a project. I suggest we keep our eyes open for it at least. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
