Did you uncheck the "Compress Files" check box when actually attaching the file? The choice is right above the Encoding popup. If you don't see this choices, click the triangle next to the paperclip in an outgoing message (located between the address area and the body text area). Also, if you are sending using an AOL account AND are sending more than one attached file, it will compress the attachments no matter what. You can't disable that at all.
