No one except Apple and
maybe some beta testers knows if it will work under OS 10.3 ("Panther").
Apple says Panther will run on all G4s.
Maybe for sanity sake, I'll load up Panther this weekend and see if it
works (I usually don't run the beta OS versions... I don't have a machine
I can spare to highly unstable environments... but I'm sure people would
like to know if it works).
That is an exceptionally generous offer.
I fired up Emailer on my Developer Preview of Panther (not the latest build of it, however, developer FTP servers have been absolutely hammered since it was released a week ago), and it seems to work fine. I set up a test account on one of my Linux machines to shuffle a handful of messages back and forth. I didn't use it extensively, but I did send and receive a few, including attachments. Worked fine, as did mail actions.
So, I don't think Emailer users will have anything to worry about with Panther. From what I've read, one thing they've done a lot with in Panther is improving the whole Classic experience.
