Depends on the type of clicking noise. Clicking is also caused by rapid head seek, which can be normal, or can be the head zipping around trying to find what it is looking for (because of drive corruption it can't find it or is badly confused on where to find it). That isn't to say that clicking can't be a bad sign, or even a death noise. But just knowing that a drive was clicking, my first guess would not be a head crash. Of course it doesn't bode well that the drive doesn't mount on reboot... but there are a number of fixable software issues that can fit these symptoms (foremost to me is a bad drive table, which is something that Disk Warrior can fix) -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
