Mail that I delete appears to stay in the Deleted Mail folder even after
I quit CE.
I can manually delete them (again) - but if I don't do that, they just continue to reside in the Deleted Mail folder.
Ideas?
Hi Bob:
Sounds like a typical database corruption that happens occasionally to some CE users.
Launch Emailer with the option key held down. A dialog will appear asking
you if you want to rebuild Emailer's data base. If it's not already
pre-selected, select typical rebuild and click OK. When the rebuild is
completed Emailer will automatically quit.
Then go into Emailer's Files folder. Open up the Mail folder. You will
now see a new Mail Database, also a new Mail Index. Also there will be
the previous versions of the same
re-labled "Old" on both of them. Drag the "old mail database and old mail
index" out of the mail folder onto your desktop, or trash if you wish.
Close all the folders, then launch Emailer. You should now be able to
delete the mail in the deleted folder manually, or automatically upon
quitting Emailer if your preferences were set to do so.
