Not according to your original post: >>I'm in need of upgrading anti virus software and wondered what you >>folks think. I currently have been using Norton AV 7.0 on System 9.2.2 >>but having upgraded to OS 10.3.4 I am wondering what upgrade to >>purchase. My funds are limited but I do need to be protected. What >>upgrade do most of you use or recommend. Also what Preferences in AV >>do you suggest? Should I use full protection, automatic etc.? >>thanks for your help, [snip] > I am concerned that any anti-virus software >might be in conflict with Emailer and so I posed my question. No, you didn't pose that question, e.g. does anti-virus software conflict with Emailer?. You asked a general question (see above), hence my *suggestion* you post to the Mac-L list. You'll certainly reach a much larger group of mac experts, hence a greater possibility of informed replies. >Sorry if >that is an inconvenience to you. No, not an inconvenience; I was simply trying to direct you a wider-ranging list. Also you have ignored my other point--people using OS X *do not need* anti-virus software. AFAIK, there is no OSX virus 'in the wild'; there is a proof of concept, but that can be intrepreted as a publicity stunt by an anti-virus software maker. You say you have limited funds; save them by waiting until there is a virus for OS X before purchasing OSX anti-virus software. FYI the phrase "OS X anti-virus software" is a oxymoron.
