This sounds a little like the Temp Incoming issue. I know you said you trashed the Temp Incoming... but you didn't say if you trashed files from the folder, or the whole folder. Quit and restart Emailer until the Temp Incoming folder is empty. Then throw out the whole Temp Incoming folder. Then close ALL windows.
