It does seem to require an aborted move. OK, so this is a refined sequence that I tested at least once and got it ot do what I didn't want.
in manual, use TkEmc GUI right mouse click to set X, Y and Z to some setting. Run a program that moves X and Y, and abort it. Now, with XY position not at (0,0) jog Z and then right click on Z to set that axis. The X and Y axes will go back to default, even though the work offsets displayed above the axis positions will still show that offset. This behavior is fairly consistent, although one time it did NOT reset the X and Y. But, the last op may not have been an abort that time. I lived with the problem for a while by writing down the machine coords of my (0,0) position and using MDI to go to that position in machine coords and re-doing the right click. I have to get more used to working with Axis, but this is mental inertia of the worst kind. >>Does Axis do a better job of this? >> >> > >AXIS moves G54 which is not bothered by M2.
