The AMP CPC in the 23-16M size runs $3.92 to 5.41 depending on
which end and style you want. It probably takes about $5 in
contacts to fill it up. But, it only has 12 signal contacts
plus 4 power contacts. I have used several styles of this
connector series in gear I've made before, and have been very
happy with the performance and reliability of the product line.

I consider this product line to be a VERY affordable and
professional connector, I just need one with a couple more pins
and I'd be really happy.

I don't have a very good idea how to "multiplex" things like
quadrature encoders and home switches, especially when they
connect to isolated electrical systems.
