As someone said and John T confirmed the launcher doesn't work in 6.04
But then again Dapper is getting pretty old.
But that means the config pick's optional launcher won't work either.

I think it is worthwhile. As John T pointed out a novice finishes stepconf
and has little idea what to do next (it ends pretty apruptly).
If an Icon is displayed with he's configuration name on it it is pretty 
intuitive.

IMHO if it works with KDE and Gnome on 8.04 and on then that should be
good enough. Just like if you try to use EMC with Debian you would expect
some work to get it all together. If you know enough to change the window
manager then you know enough to find the files.
