Just a sidenote that Ubuntu 6.06LTS (the standard for EMC2 enabled
distribution in the past) was forcibly upgraded to current LTS
(long-term-support) version.
In other words, if it works in the linux distro usually provided on
linuxcnc site - it satisfies most novices anyway.
Someone who tries to install the EMC2 on his own linux he carefully
configured before is already an expert, don't you think?
If I had to choose how to install EMC, I would simply download the CD
from http://linuxcnc.org/ and I would expect some easy to use (but
still allowing rich configuration options) to be included in there.
