I am sending off a brand-new beagle board and accessories to Torsten Koschorrek of RTAI today. He is planning on starting working on the port near the end of October. Hopefully he won't find this too difficult, and in a month or so we will have the first cut of an RT kernel.
I have given up an finding anyone on the beagle board forums who knows enough about the internal clocking system to help speed up the GPIO, and have referred it to TI technical support.
