The EMC documentation for RS274 (RS274NGC) implies
that G0 motion is co-ordinated motion. The original
RS-274D specification made no such claim and the
Peter Smid book (CNC Programming Handbook)
states that the motion is not necessarily the
shortest path, and is up to the machine control
implementer. By this definition, the Bridgeport
implementation complies with the original RS274
specification but not RS274NGC.

I agree with Jon, we should follow the RS-274D spec, not the behavior of
some particular older controller.
