I think you need a HAL component which can talk to your device over UDP or TCP since it hooks to motion it should be an RT component - I'd assume a userland component would be too slow (or have a vey tight loop) that said, I think a RT HAL component with net I/O would be a bit of unchartered territory, OTOH I dont see any existing RT component doing that; maybe netlink sockets can help -- I think it is about time this community considers and decides what to do on RT network I/O devices - a plethora of special-case contraptions is undesirable IMO. - Michael ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
