So, this is where I left off the other day. Sadly, due to time
constraints, I'm going to have to abandon this thread.

If you were waiting for my ideas on problem #2A, see the new thread
I've started entitled, _Finally, A Proposal_.

As far as predicting the future, I was going to write a little piece
about how advances in technology, and in particular in linuxcnc, were
making the world a better place. The general idea was to speculate on a
"happy future" with an eye towards making you guys seriously consider
my suggested changes to the way we run things around here in order to
make my theoretical "happy future" a reality. I don't have the time
to do this before I leave :(

I was however going to spend some time talking about the role linuxcnc
could play in tech school education. I'm really sympathetic towards
guys like Ralph Sterling who have to teach this stuff, so I'll come
back and do that part of the "predict the future" essay later on, as
I've got what I think are some good suggestions on this. My son Tim
just finished his first year of "Machining and Manufacturing
Technology" at vocational/technical school, so I've seen their current
curriculum ( http://www.toolingu.com/default.aspx ) and I have ideas on
how to improve on, and add to it.

Sorry,
Matt
