Digital zoom is just interpolation and doesn't really help with edge 
finding with cheap cameras. If you really want to find the edge you want 
good data from the appropriate lens and sensor. If there is too much 
Gaussian noise you can reduce it by increasing or improving the 
lighting. If that is already optimized the noise may be reduced by 
averaging frames with the camera kept stationary.
